Whataburger Whatagames

Project Overview

Whataburger’s internal Whatagames Convention is a celebration of culture, community, and company pride. The goal was to create a fully branded experience that honored team members, reinforced company values, and activated the convention space in an engaging and immersive way. Every hallway, wall, and open area needed to feel unmistakably Whataburger—without losing functionality or flow for attendees.

Execution

Working within the expansive footprint of the George R. Brown Convention Center, we developed and implemented a cohesive visual system rooted in Whataburger’s iconic orange-and-white identity. Key components included:

Large-scale Environmental Graphics: Full-wall vinyl murals featuring employee portraits and motivational messaging brought the brand to life while celebrating individual team members.

Strategic Wayfinding & Signage: High-visibility navigational signage helped guide thousands of attendees through the venue’s multiple levels and entrances while reinforcing the Whatagames identity at every turn.

Interactive Photo Ops & Brand Installations: Oversized elements like a giant order of fries and a branded food truck were designed to surprise and delight guests, providing organic opportunities for photo-taking and social sharing.

Branded Zones: From the dining area to the Whatastore to check-in points and convention entrances, each space was wrapped in bold patterns and typography to create a seamless, all-encompassing experience.

Project Results

The result was a high-impact, fully immersive brand takeover of one of Houston’s largest convention spaces. Attendees were surrounded by a consistent visual narrative that celebrated Whataburger’s values and people—turning a large venue into a personal, engaging, and unforgettable environment.

The installation created a strong sense of belonging, pride, and connection among team members—just as intended.
