As the Sales and Exhibits Coordinator, your role focuses on cultivating sales, both outbound and inbound, primarily on the exhibit show floor at the George R. Brown Convention Center (GRBCC). Driven to seek new clients and advance reoccurring projects, ensuring all exhibit production services are met within the GRB.

 

George R Brown Convention Center is one of ten city owned and operated properties within the city of Houston. Houston First Corporation (HFC) is the official destination marketing organization which promotes the region as a destination for tourism and convention business.

 

Sales and Exhibits Coordinator Job Duties:

  • Coordinate and manage exhibitor sales activities, including identifying and contacting potential exhibitors.
  • Driven to meet and exceed sales goals
  • Oversee the sales process from SOW (Statement of Work) to invoicing and payment processing.
  • Collaborate with the admin team to secure necessary documentation (e.g., Certificates of Insurance, diagrams, scope of work).
  • Attend weekly sales meetings and collaborate with the Director of Sales @ GRB
  • Maximize revenue and adhere to event profit guidelines
  • Ability to manage multiple sales campaigns simultaneously
  • Handle contracts, payments, and invoicing for exhibitors.
  • Liaise with exhibitors to meet their logistical and sales needs during events while communicating in timely manner.
  • Oversee the installation and dismantling of exhibitor booths, ensuring compliance with event timelines, safety regulations, and exhibitor specifications.
  • Coordinate with onsite labor teams and service providers for setup and breakdown of exhibitor spaces.
  • Ensure timely delivery of equipment and materials for both installation and dismantling phases.
  • Manage communication and resolve issues during installation and dismantling to ensure smooth operations and client satisfaction.
  • Provide reports on exhibitor sales, installation, dismantling processes, and performance metrics to the company.
  • Understand and operate within building exclusives and pricing structures.
  • Serve as the primary advocate for clients while managing multiple event deliverables with internal partners.
  • Manage small to mid-level incoming projects.
  • Uphold processes and procedures established by Staging Solutions.
  • Utilize CRM tools (e.g., SharpSpring) for sales management.

 

Sales and Exhibits Coordinator Skills and Qualifications:

  • A desire to grow and learn within a challenging industry
  • A bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience).
  • Over three years’ experience in facility/convention/hospitality/AV/Exhibit sales is preferred
  • Highly professional, confident presence, along with persuasive communication skills
  • Very competitive in nature, complemented by an ingenious thought process and a passion for major challenges
  • Motivated and driven to research, prospect, and get the opportunity to pitch
  • Imaginative, engaging presenter and relationship-developer
  • Innate curiosity about the trends and possibilities in event marketing
  • Inherently positive, approachable with the ability to mesh with varying personalities and styles of work
  • Able to work with recurring projects that remain in similar scope year over year
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365, Google Docs, and LinkedIn
  • Ability to work within CRM platform and integrated marketing automation
